What WOULD a toilet look like in the middle ages, if current toilet tech existed, you ask? Carved stone, filigrees, and aged to match the dark and dreary look of the time. Add in designing sigils, and creating a call to war with trebuchets, mess halls, blacksmith bellows, and so many spears and swords, horses and geese, and soldiers aplenty, and you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. We created banners and flags and scrolls and ancient photography and and and. Working in Barcelona was a dream especially shooting at a GoT castle, and with an amazing crew that brought it all to life with style and craft.

Oh, and yeah, we shot a RHWO. . . type spot as well.

Chase Holiday, with Catherine O’Hara, Kevin Hart, Kevin Garland and the original KEVIN, Macaulay Culkin. This was such a huge challenge and even bigger reward. Create something new and interesting while still feeling relatable and slightly nostalgic. So here we go with an almost 30’ tree made of presents. Our Art Director @jerrodmcilvain worked with our set decorator @tallydukefloyd to execute this daunting task with style, and practicality, while making sure it was secure and safe. And then there was the doll!

It’s always fun to do a period piece, especially when it includes lots of live explosions, and is set in the jungles of the WW2 Pacific Theater. Almost all of this was done practically, including the WW2 Japanese tank we were able to track down within trucking distance of LA.

For this spot we built an “Old Gym” to open the spot. It was built in pieces so that it could be computer-controlled winched away as an option for the transition at the beginning of the spot. They didn’t go with this option in the final cut, but it sure was fun to make happen.
